"Naomi Grant - Painter"
Naomi Grant, a descendant of the Wiradjuri people of central New South Wales, has made her home in Perth, Western Australia for the past 33 years. Naomi has a successful career as a practicing contemporary Indigenous artist and designer which spans the past 25 years, after graduating from Curtin University of WA with a BA in Design. Bold colour and the beauty of creation are strong inspirational elements that help mould each painting. Often these ideas spring from dreams, visions and memories. Naomi’s passion for painting has been a factor in all areas of her life, and her life experiences influence strongly on the theme of the paintings, giving such a diverse range of topics and styles. Naomi is equally comfortable with traditional scenes and portraits, through to a more contemporary blending of realism and Indigenous imagery. Her areas of achievement range from fine art covering oils, pastel, acrylic and watercolours as well as textile design, screen printing, freelance consultations, facilitating design and drawing workshops.
